Stephon Castle Commits to Connecticut

Newton & Atlanta Xpress 2023 combo guard Stephon Castle has committed to Connecticut. Castle becomes the third player in Newton's 2023 class to choose where he will play at the next level in the past month, with teammates Jakai Newton & Qua Brown choosing Indiana & Georgia respectively.

At 6-foot-6, Castle is an extremely versatile, do-it-all guard that excels with the ball in his hands and creating offense. He's very good in ball screen situations and makes great reads. He's a very solid all around scorer and a very gifted passer as well. He contributes on the boards at a very high level and is one of the best rebounding guards in the class. Defensively, he guards multiple positions and can be very versatile.

Castle becomes the first commit in the Huskies' 2023 class as well as one of the more important commitments in the Danny Hurley era. He is already a very productive player that still has a high ceiling and is the type of player that the Huskies coaching staff can build their recruiting class around.

He was a top performer on the RYZE Hoops stage a number of times over the past couple of years with the Atlanta Xpress 15U & 16U teams, including being apart of the RYZE Live Showcase I Super Six in 2021.
