RYZE Summer 60 2022 Players to Watch Pt. 2

Damoni Harrison, Promise Elite (Pictured)

Coming off a really good high school season at Archer, Damoni Harrison has been a consistent top performer in every event this travel season for Promise Elite. He has great size for a guard at 6-foot-5 and the athleticism to defend multiple positions. He comfortably plays both guard spots and is a crafty finisher around the rim. This could be the weekend where he becomes a priority guy for some schools.

Braden Pierce, Georgia Legacy

It’s been really fun for our staff to watch Braden Pierce’s growth the past couple seasons working with Georgia Legacy coach Josh Fitzwater. He’s progressed to the point where schools like Georgia, Ole Miss, South Florida and Virginia Tech are showing heavy interest while East Carolina and Kennesaw State have offered. The 7-foot center from River Ridge has really improved his overall skill level to where he can make shots from the perimeter. He has really good hands, finishes strong inside, and protects the rim defensively. He’s become one of the top post players in Georgia’s 2022 class.

Umar Lawson, Anthony Morrow Elite

We were able to watch Umar Lawson a couple months ago at our RYZE Live Showcase II and it isn’t hard to see why he’s one of the prospects our staff has received the most questions about lately. He’s a versatile 6-foot-4 guard with great athleticism and toughness out of South Carolina. He has a really quick first step and is a gifted finisher around the rim. He’ll have quite a few Division 1 programs tracking him this weekend. South Carolina State has offered.

Jaborri McGhee, CP25 AL/MS

Jaborri McGhee might be one of the biggest sleepers in the Southeast right now out of Alabama. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound guard has the strong, sturdy frame along with the athleticism to make him a tough matchup for opposing guards. He’s mostly played point guard coming up, but he’s also one of the best scorers our staff has seen this travel season. He’s a tough shot maker, which is hard to find at the high school level.

Cayden Charles, SEBA/FCI Warriors

Another under the radar prospect coming to the Summer 60 this weekend is Cayden Charles, who has been one of the stars at our RYZE Hoops events this travel season. The 6-foot-3 PG from nearby Allatoona High School is a lockdown defender and constantly improving shooter from three-point range. He’s on the radar of several Division 1 programs off his recent performances.
