RYZE Spring Showdown Saturday Notes

It's always good to be in the gym with a lot of high level basketball. We continued the high school divisions of our travel series with a live period event at the RYZE Spring Showdown. Here are some notes from the day:

  • Best prospect in the gym today? Atlanta Xpress 2025 wing/forward Chane Bynum. At a long 6-foot-8 with perimeter skills and a smooth jumper, his ceiling is incredibly high as a true two way player. He's as versatile as they come and as he continues to develop, he will be a name you hear a lot of in Georgia in the coming years.

  • ACE Elite has a very good squad out of Charlotte. 2022 PG Joshua Stevenson & 2023 guard Brandon Nelson make for a very dynamic backcourt while Tai Hamilton is very noteworthy in the frontcourt at 6-foot-10.

  • Team Tatum 17u backcourt duo Major Freeman & Khayri Dunn were definitely noteworthy, averaging a combined 48 points per game as Team Tatum rolled their two games on the day. Freeman's recruitment as an unsigned senior is still open and college coaches should want to continue to watch him this spring.

  • Team Swish 2023 guard Theo Antinori made his mark on the day with two great performances. He's very shifty off the bounce with some sneaky athleticism and the ability to score the ball from every level of the floor. He was one of the most impressive players overall on the day.

  • BANG Up 2023 wing Jalen Carruth was one of the best shooters of the day, averaging 25 points per game on the day, including a game with six threes. His versatility and athleticism combined with the ability to score the ball from the perimeter should do well for him moving forward.

  • D. Rivers Elite point guard Corey Gibbs was the top scorer in the 17U division on the day, averaging 28 points per game, including a big 35 point performance. He was able to continuously get to the rim off the dribble all day and nobody could seem to keep him in front.

  • ABA has an interesting squad that is full of future names to look out for in Alabama. Guard/wing Kaden Rickard was the main standout playing a versatile point-wing position, averaging 18 points per game and looking great making plays for teammates. JD Gossett was one of the best passers in the field and Kaheel Green was very good getting to the rim and scoring the ball.

  • Macon Elite has a solid 2025 sleeper in Joshua Harden. Harden has solid size and length and is a slashing bucket getter from the wing. He showed the ability to score the ball at a high level and will be a name to look for in Middle Georgia in the coming years.
