RYZE SPring Showdown 17U Top Performers Pt. 1

Reid Carrier, Team Swish (Pictured)

Carrier was one of the best point guards in the field. He has an advanced skill level and loads of toughness. He makes great reads and decisions with the ball in his hands and scores the ball well from every level of the floor and distributes the ball where it needs to go. It's no surprise why is a highly regarded floor general in North Carolina with his skill set and competitiveness on both ends.

Corey Gibbs, D. Rivers Elite

Gibbs ended the weekend as the high scorer in the 17U division at 24 points per game, including a big 35-point performance on Saturday afternoon. His reputation is a guy that is very good off the dribble, which he showed a lot of, getting to the rim and converting consistently. However, he really showed his range this weekend, consistently knocking down perimeter jumpers, with 11 threes made on the weekend.

Joel King, Florida Suns

King had some huge games this weekend for the Suns, including a big 30-point performances to start the weekend. Overall, he averaged over 20 points per game and did so in a variety of ways. He scored it from every level of the floor: he knocked down catch and shoot threes, moved well without the ball to get himself in scoring spots, and hit the offensive glass hard for putbacks.

Lebrun Northington, BBA

We were very impressed with Northington's physical tools at our Senior Showcase back in March, and he continued to show those and more this weekend. He was very consistent scoring the ball, going for 19 points or more in every game, including three 20+ point performances. He did a majority of his work off the dribble getting to the rim and in the open floor, where he used his athleticism and physicality to convert at a high level.

Khayri Dunn, Team Tatum

Dunn was one half of Team Tatum's dynamic backcourt that helped them roll to an unbeaten record on the weekend. Dunn is a tough, scrappy guard that is very quick off the dribble and knows how to get to his spots and put the ball in the basket. He averaged over 20 points per game on the weekend and scored the ball from every level and looked very difficult to stay in front of off the bounce.

Tyson Anderson, Cam Sports South

Anderson came out of the gates on Saturday extremely strong, looking for his offense and shooting the ball a very high clip. He had 29-point and 25-point performances on Saturday and finished the weekend averaging over 19 points per game and was the top three point shot maker in the field, averaging 4.8 threes per game.
