RYZE Live Showcase I 16U Top Performers Pt. 1

Austen Colton, Newnan Elite (Pictured)

Colton led the entire event in scoring at 32 points per game, including going over the 40-point mark twice. He has a natural scoring instinct and knows how to create his own shot and has the ability to connect from anywhere. He's a sniper from three, hitting 5.5 threes per game on the weekend. However, he's very good off the bounce and can shoot the ball off the dribble in the midrange very effectively as well.

Marcel Reed, EAB Tennessee 3SSB

Reed is probably better known as a high level quarterback on the gridiron as he is a high level football recruit; however, he got it done this weekend on the hardwood for an EAB team that won the 16U Platinum division championship. He has a sweet shooting stroke that is as pure as it gets. He is also very smooth off the bounce and has quickness and agility that allow him to get to the rim and finish.

Jakai Newton, Atlanta Xpress

Newton is one part of the four-headed attack for Atlanta Xpress. He really shined through bracket play on Sunday and came up big in the biggest situations for his team. He's a high level athlete and a pure scorer who can do it from every level of the floor. He also has the tools to be a high-level on-ball defender as well. He is one of the better scorers in Georgia's 2023 class.

Brandon Rechsteiner, Atlanta All Stars 2023

Rechsteiner is a fantastic floor general who plays with a ton of poise, great feel, and a high IQ. He has a knack for getting the ball where it needs to go when it needs to get there and has a high level of understanding on the offensive end. He's also a very good shooter from three both off the dribble and off the catch. He plays well in ball screens and is a good playmaker with the ball in his hands.

DK Manyiel, Team Forrest

I'm not sure that there are any players in the state of Georgia who have made a bigger jump and improvement than Manyiel. He has had an incredible travel season that has seen him gain attention and offers from high major programs. While we still got everything that we love that comes with his size like shot blocking and rebounding ability, he shined with his shooting stroke this weekend, knocking down a number of threes. He was also able to find his way to the free throw line and convert a high rate.
