Myles Hayes, Woodward Academy, Wing
The sophomore wing has always been one of the most explosive athletes in the 2028 class, but he's now becoming one of the more consistent three-point shooters in the class too. He rebounds at a high level as well, and his athleticism allows to jump passing lanes for steals and block shots. He was the best player on the court for the first half in a high-level game at Decatur.
Jarvis HAyes, Woodward Academy, Guard
If it was his younger brother as MVP in the first half, the older Hayes brother took over for Woodward Academy in the second half at Decatur to help the War Eagles clinch the top spot in the region with the win. Jarvis Hayes is a true three-level scorer with upside for days.
Bradyn Elder, Woodward Academy, Guard
Often overshadowed by his nationally ranked teammates, Bradyn Elder has become a really good, valuable player for Woodward Academy. He's a knockdown shooter from three-point range, a good decision-maker with the ball, and not afraid to do some of the stuff that doesn't show up on the stat sheet. His recruitment should pick up soon.
Tobias Brinkley, Decatur, Forward
The Tulane-bound forward has been really impressive all year for Decatur. He did everything he could to keep his team in the game against Woodward Academy with his 23 points and 14 rebounds. His versatility makes him a really tough matchup, and it should also help him get on the court early for the Green Wave next year.
Xavier Butler, North Cobb Christian, Forward
From the opening tip against Murray County, the junior forward absolutely dominated in the paint for North Cobb Christian. He finished the blowout win with 31 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 blocks. It was one of the more dominant performances our staff has seen this year.
Grant Robich, North Cobb Christian, Forward
Xavier Butler holds down the frontcourt for the Eagles, but Grant Robich is the engine that makes the machine go at point guard. It wasn't his best game of the year from look at the stat line, but he makes his presence felt with his feisty defense on opposing ball handlers and he makes sure his big man gets the ball in position to score.
Nehemiah Michael, North Atlanta, Guard
In a blowout victory at home against Lambert HS, Nehemiah scored 35 points and did so in a variety of ways. In the first half Nehemiah did a good job of getting into the teeth of Lambert's zone defense and making a variety of runners and floaters, showing off nice touch as he got into the paint. In the second half his hot shooting continued, only he did more damage off the dribble against man-to-man defense. Nehemiah often broke his on-ball defender down, once again getting to the paint, showing off his floaters and runners and finding teammates. He also knocked down a handful of threes. including a few step backs off the dribble.
Peter Julius, Mount Bethel, Forward
In a hard-fought road win at The Walker School, the 6'10" big man led all scorers with 21 points and showed dominance on both offense and defense. Offensively, Julius showed good footwork and touch as he operated in the post and showed his athleticism often, finishing above the rim. Defensively, his presence made ball handlers second guess attacking the basket and he controlled the glass.
KD Hernandez, The Walker School, Guard
Hernandez led The Walker School with 18 points showed an ability to play as orchestrator when needed but then dial up his aggression as a scorer also. In the second half, KD displayed a quick burst and some shiftiness as he broke down some of Mount Bethel's bigger, more athletic defenders. As a result of the pressure he put on the rim, Hernandez lived at the FT line, going 11-12 (8-8 in the second half). Once in the paint, Hernandez displayed an ability to finish with either hand, with touch or against contact.
