Peach State Weekend Preview: January 13-14

January 13th

Dutchtown vs. Eagles Landing

The southside is going to have some great matchups over the next few weeks, and this will be one of them. Eagles Landing is sitting at 17-0 behind Mercer commit David Thomas and guards Chris Morris & Khylan McKennie. Dutchtown is very tough and undefeated in region play as well with senior guard Jeremiah Edwards and junior big man Matthew Hinton.

Hiram vs. Dalton

These two teams have been very successful so far this season. Hiram plays with a ton of speed and a great group of guards including Lincoln Memorial commit Jay Boyd as well as Amir Taylor and Chase Tyler. Dalton is led by senior forward Chaz Ramsey, who is averaging close to 20 points on the season.

Cherokee vs. North CObb

North Cobb has been one of the bigger surprises in 7A this season, sitting at 13-2 behind great play from senior wing Evan Daniel. They will take on a very experienced Cherokee team who is also 13-2, led by a great group of upperclassmen. Region 5-7A is going to be highly competitive all season and any mix of teams could make it to state from the region.

Shiloh vs. Lanier

We love the player matchup in this one between Lanier junior forward Jace Nathaniel and Shiloh sophomore wing/forward Tylis Jordan. These guys have both had tremendous seasons and this will be one of the best matchups on the night in the metro area between two similar players.

January 14th

Osborne vs. Mount Pisgah

The guard matchup will be something to watch here between Mount Pisgah's Micah Tucker, who has put up some huge scoring numbers this season, and Osborne's Akai Fleming, who is one of the top overall players in Georgia's 2025 class.

Sandy Creek vs. Langston Hughes

Sandy Creek has had a great season so far at 12-3, led by junior forward Micah Smith, who is also surrounded by a great group of guards. Langston Hughes is always tough and we have been impressed this season by senior guard Randy Latham, who has shown the ability to score the ball and make plays at a high level.

Gray Collegiate (SC) vs. Greenforest

One of the headlining games at Cedar Shoals on Saturday night, there will be Division I players all over the floor in this one. Gray Collegiate senior forward & Georgia Southern commit Avantae Parker is as versatile as they come and senior guard Trai White is tough as nails and can really score it. Greenforest is led by their big man duo of Mississippi State commit Gai Chol & Georgia State commit DK Manyiel.
