Peach State Weekend Lookahead

Friday, December 16th

The War Lodge Classic at Sequoyah features a couple good matchups, including the hosting Chiefs squaring off with Parkview. Preston Parker and Brendan Tousignaut are off to a great start to the season, combining for over 30 points per game. They will try to contain Parkview's young guards as well as sophomore forward Jacob Wilkins, who has been incredibly impressive so far this season.

There is a great private school matchup between Kings Ridge & Augusta Christian. King's Ridge is led by seniors Isaac Martin & Micah Hoover, as well as a terrific surrounding cast and are one of the favorites in 1-A Division I. Augusta Christian is led by senior 6-foot-11 big man & Georgia Southern commit Luke Wilson.

Saturday, December 17th

Holiday tournaments will be in full swing starting this weekend. The Pace Academy Playing for a Change event features a ton of great teams including McDonough, Eagles Landing, McEachern, Pace, Kell, Greenforest, and Grovetown.

The Lemon Street Classic has become a staple holiday event over the past few years, and this year has a great field on Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday. The brackets feature Walnut Grove, Alexander, Walton, Luella, Etowah, Butlet, Lovett, Peachtree Ridge, Paulding County, Dutchtown, Calhoun, North Cobb Christian, and Marietta as well as out of state teams Lousiville Western (KY), Blythewood (SC), and Albany Academy (NY).

A first round matchup between Alexander and Walton should be fun, with Walton junior Luke Flynn going up against a very good Alexander team that features Chattanooga commit Noah Melson as well as junior Braedan Lue.

Other non-bracket games are sprinkled in as well featuring St. Pius X, McDonough, Eagles Landing, Buford, and Lowndes among others.

As always, we will have coverage from all across the area. Stay tuned!
