Team Preview:

Our staff got the chance to get an advanced, in-depth look at the Eagles in our RYZE Fall League, and one thing is for sure: they can really score the ball from the perimeter.

Etowah is a tight-knit, well-coached group with shooters all over the floor that will prove to be tough to guard for opposing teams. They are led by junior point guard Brandon Rechsteiner, who is one of the best floor generals in Georgia’s 2023 class. He showed elite offensive abilities this fall and all signs point to a breakout season for him, establishing himself as one of the Peach’s better guards overall.

He is flanked by a number of talented guards and wings that we have seen are capable of posting scoring numbers on any given night. Senior guards Jonah Hamilton and Dajaun Devonish will be supplementary playmakers as well as perimeter shot makers. Junior wing Mason Etter gives the Eagles good size, toughness, and versatility as well as another scoring & playmaking threat.

Senior forward Josh Hughes will be the feature player in the Eagles frontcourt. Hughes returned to play late in the fall after missing time with an eye injury. He will give Etowah a strong, athletic presence in the paint and can finish off plays on the interior.

If you’re looking for a sleeper here it may come in the form of sophomore guard Dimitri Angelakos. He provides a very good scoring threat in the backcourt, and when he gets hot, he can make shots in bunches.
