GHSA Notable Performances - January 24th

  • The stat lines that Holy Innocents sophomore forward Caleb Wilson has been putting up since his return this season have been ridiculous. Last night in a win over Stephenson, he flirted with a triple-double yet again, stuffing the stat sheeet with 16 points, 10 boards, 7 blocks and 5 assists.

  • Lanier 2024 forward Jayce Nathaniel went for a huge 32 points, 11 boards, and 4 blocks in a win over North Forsyth in one of the better player matchups of the night with North's big man Cole Kirouac. He put the icing on the cake with this off-the-glass dunk from Osmar Garcia.

  • The game of the night was out in Augusta between Westside & Thomson, which was featured in our preview yesterday. Westside wing/forward Khalon Hudson went for a huge double-double that helped lift Westside to a one-point win in overtime.

  • It seems like time and time again, we have seen South Gwinnett guard Justin Redmond coming up big in the biggest moments and putting up great numbers as well. He hit a huge three to send last night's game against Archer into overtime, where the Comets eventually won it. He finished with 24 points in the win.

  • Madison County is a big time sleeper in 4A at 19-2 on the season with a great group of 2024 & 2025 players. Last night it was sophomore Grant Smith leading the way with 27 points & connecting on five threes to help beat North Oconee.

  • 6-foot-4 senior Dylan Gustafson helped lift Midtown to a close win over Lithia Springs by posting a huge 29-point, 17-rebound double-double, which was one of the more eye-popping stat lines of the night in Atlanta.

  • It was a big night for Lambert senior guard Niko Wilson in a win over county rival West Forsyth. Wilson went for 28 points in the big win to lift the Longhorns to 4-2 in region play in Region 6-7A.

  • Alexander has so many players that can beat you on any given night, and last night it was senior wing Marvin McGhee helping keep the Cougars' region record without a loss. He went for 30 points, 15 boards, and 5 assists in a win over region rival New Manchester.

  • In one of our games of the night, McDonough remained undefeated in region play with a win over Lovett. Senior guard Da'avion Thomas was big time in a huge backcourt matchup, coming away with 24 points and playing a huge role on the defensive side of the floor as well.

  • People in Atlanta might not know about Charlton County 2025 guard Jarvis Wright as of yet, but he's helped lead his team to a 17-1 record this season. Last night against Echols County, he went for 24 points and knocked down 8 threes. He's one of the state's best shooters and has gone over 5 threes in a game 11 times this season.
