Breakdown

Both of these programs have been on the state championship stage in Macon quite a bit in recent years. Pace Academy won state in 2020 & 2021 in AAA & AA, and they are looking to add another title in their now AAAA classification. Fayette County made it to Macon in 2021 and lost a heartbreaker to Baldwin.

Pace Academy has found their identity this season in the form of being a great defensive team and limiting opponents to low totals, specifically limiting the production of opposing backcourts. Eric Chatfield & KJ Greene have become a very formidable backcourt and Pace has athleticism on the wings in the form LJ Moore & Kendall Evans as well as a solid sophomore wing/forward in Chandler Bing.

Their backcourt defense will yet again be tested, however, as they go up against maybe the hottest player in the state in Fayette senior guard RJ Kennedy, who has been scoring the ball at a very high level, going over the 30-point mark multiple times this postseason. Kennedy is currently averaging over 24 points per game on the season. He is joined by a great group of sophomores in Sean Van Dorn, Keith Gillespie, and Christian McAllister, who are all notable guys in Georgia's 2025 class.
