Breakdown
Two teams that are very familiar with each other make the trip down to Macon and battle for a fourth time this season for a state title. Sandy Creek and Cedar Grove met twice in the regular season and again in the region championship game, with Sandy Creek taking all three of those games.
The Patriots have had a terrific season and will be looking for a state championship after coming close on a number of occasions the past few seasons. They have had some great wins in their playoff run, including wins at Johnson Savannah and against two time reigning champions Cross Creek. Junior forward Micah Smith as well as their backcourt of Amari Brown, Vic Newsom, and PJ Green have been crucial all year and through this run and will be big again this afternoon.
Cedar Grove will look to get that first win against Sandy Creek this season and will need a big effort from their leading scorers Jaylen Aside & Darius Reynolds. They also have two very good underclassmen in Manny Green, one of the best freshmen in the state, and Elliot Colson who they will need big production from on the big stage.
