DT Invitational: Saturday Notes

We kicked off the high school season with a full day of hoops at Berkmar High School for the Double Trouble Invitational. It was a great way to start the year, with some notable play and great performances. Here are some notes from the day:

  • Osborne senior guard Zocko Littleton (Pictured) easily had one of the best performances of the day. The Appalachian State signee scored the ball well from the perimeter as he usually does, knocking down the three ball as well as attacking the paint, creating offense, and scoring at the rim. He also played hard on the other end, continually denying the ball to opposing guards for the full length of the floor.

  • Dacula junior shooting guard Mari Jordan continues to show why he's one of Georgia's notable 2023 players. He's got all of the ideal measurables with the offensive skillset to go with it. He made some eye-opening plays today and showed his full scoring ability, including a big dunk in traffic.

  • It's hard not to like what Chattahoochee showed. The Hooch showed some great signs in the preseason at the RYZE Fall League and continued to show why they will be a tough out again this year. Seniors Gil Matondo and Tomiwa Adetosoye are great players on the wing that play with energy, toughness, and scoring ability. Sophomore PG Yuta Yamamoto is a strong, steady floor general that can score as well as set the table for the Cougars. This group is off to an impressive start.

  • Shiloh senior guard/wing Trevon Payton again showed why he is such an interesting prospect. He has the versatility that you love to see from a player in the modern style. Defensively, he can guard multiple positions and uses his length to cause disruptions. Offensively, he has a solid skill set and can knock down shots as well as create off the bounce.

  • Norcross got off to a great start with a big win over Fayette County. The Blue Devils proved that they are still one of the teams to beat in Georgia's highest classification, with five players in double figures. Junior guard London Johnson continues to run the show very well and has great pieces around him that he can play off of including Jerry Deng, Mier Panoam, Aiden Sherrell, and Samarion Bond.
