coach cyp's standouts (1/12-1/17)

Shane Goines, mount Paran Christian, 2028 Guard

Goines led all scorers with 31 points in a home win versus Mount Vernon. The 6'4" guard showcased some next level shot making from three, both off the catch and dribble, he has a nice handle and can finish both above the rim and with touch when he attacks the basket.

Frank Jackson, Jonesboro HS, 2026 wing

Dual athlete (football and basketball) Frank Jackson was named player of the game after a win over Pebblebrook HS in the Playing for a Change Showcase Event at Pace Academy. Jackson, who is a Charleston Southern signee (football), attacked when he got his opportunities, made shots, and flourished in transition.

Zyree Brown, Pebblebrook HS, 2026 Guard

Zyree Brown scored 23 points on Friday night in a region home win against McEachern HS. Brown, who's a Kennesaw State signee, scored it from a variety of spots on the floor. What impressed me was his command of the offense and his ability to get teammates in spots when the offense became erratic. His ability to balance scoring and being a floor general is impressive.

Cameron cannon, The Lovett School, 2027 guard

Cameron Cannon was a bright spot for The Lovett School despite a tough loss at the Playing for a Change Showcase Event at Pace Academy. Cannon's ability to make shots makes him one of the toughest players to the defend in the region. The 6'0" guard has a tight handle and good change of pace which makes it difficult for defenders of any size to stop him from getting to his spots. He can shoot it off the bounce but his ability to catch and shoot allows him to play off the ball which adds another scoring element to his game.
