The 16U Atlanta Celtics had one of the most explosive offenses in the 16U division of the LakePoint LIVE Showcase between an athletic and skilled frontcourt as well as a dynamic backcourt.
However, it was their defensive prowess that was the catalyst in their championship win over Team Curry. Point guard Tyrese Elliott, wing Jalen Carruth, and big man Mason Lockhart all had big moments on the offensive side of the ball in the game. However, it was the defense of Carruth and Elliott against a very good Team Curry backcourt that made the difference in the end.
The Celtics were able to hold Team Curry to two field goals in the second half, overcoming an 11-point halftime deficit to take the 16U title.
Elliott finished as the leading scorer with ten points, but Carruth, Lockhart, Chauncey Wiggins, Devon Barnes, and Kaleb Banks all had a hand in helping to win.
Team Curry was led by 2023 guard Caleb Foster in the loss, who was one of the best players in the 16U division as well as the entire event.
