Season Preview:
Milton has long been one of Georgia’s power programs, and this year will be no different as they have the pieces in place to be one of the notable teams in Georgia’s highest classification. The Eagles will have a different look than a year ago, but what has not changed is their leader in the backcourt in junior guard Josh Dixon. Dixon is one of the best natural scorers in the state and has the ability to go off on any given night. He’s also a very capable playmaker, which should come into play with the Eagles’ talent on the wing and in the frontcourt.
Three of the newcomers for the Eagles will be stepping into big time roles and will be key if Milton is going to make a run to Macon. Anthony Gause comes in from Saint Louis and had some huge moments during the scholastic period back in June. He’s got good size and length on the wing and can be productive in a lot of different ways and make his presence felt on both ends. Junior forward Daniel Ogunyemi is one of the best bigs in the state. As he gets healthy and gets acclimated to his new squad, he could be a huge difference maker. Sophomore guard Grant McDuffie also comes in from Mount Pisgah and will provide a productive presence in the backcourt.
Overall, the Eagles have the talent to make a big jump from a year ago and have the balance and pieces to make a run.
