With the travel season on hold and no opportunity for prospects entering their final year of high school to play in front of college coaches to earn scholarships, LakePoint Hoops wants to put the spotlight on the Class of 2021. Each day over the next few weeks we will be profiling a top prospect in Georgia in hopes of helping prospects generate buzz with college coaches.
Up next in the LakePoint Hoops Class of 2021 Spotlight Series…
James White
Position: Shooting Guard
Height: 6’5”
High School: Heritage Conyers
Travel Team: Atlanta Xpress
Scholarship Offers: Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee State, Kennesaw State, South Alabama, North Carolina A&T
Scouting Report: At the end of the high school season and entering the spring, White might have been the hottest prospect in Georgia, making the jump to high major offers. A true three level scorer, he is always aggressive looking to create for himself and score points. He gets most of his work done off the dribble and does so efficiently, using one-dribble pull ups or getting to the rim. He has a knack for using the dribble to create space for himself, and has great size that allows him to get his jumper off over defenders. That size also allows him to be a versatile perimeter defender. Overall, he is one of the best bucket getters in the 2021 class in the southeast, and he should have a lot of power five attention moving forward.
